After training as an industrial business management assistant, Ellen Engel began working for Deutsche Bahn in 1991, where she held various management positions in the company’s marketing department for passenger transportation. In 2002 she was appointed Head of the Office for Customer-related Disability Affairs, and today she works in the department for the Development of Target Markets and Travel Concepts of DB Vertrieb GmbH as the Manager for Sociodemographic Groups and Persons with Reduced Mobility.
Ms. Engel coordinates all activities throughout the Deutsche Bahn group relating to the disability affairs of travellers, associations for disabled individuals, and political committees. In this position, she is responsible for various strategic marketing projects, including marketing activities aimed specifically at children, adolescents, families, and over-50s.
